GetResponse Features

GetResponse comes with tons of features and this is one solid reason to use it. Here is an overview of the major features:

1. Email Marketing

Email marketing is the core feature that GetResponse offers. You can create newsletter campaigns, autoresponders, and any type of automated emails. It has a powerful email design feature that comes loaded with several email design and content templates to choose from:

GetResponse offers you multiple ways to create forms for collecting email addresses. You can use the list-builder tool, use an app, or create your own form from scratch in HTML:

The forms can be integrated with your CMS or ecommerce platform such as WordPress, Facebook, WooCommerce, etc.

You can choose a ready-made form and tweak it with an easy-to-use drag-and-drop form builder tool:

It makes form creation a piece of cake. You can create any type of form for your website without any coding or design skills.

Creating email campaigns and building your email list is super-easy with GetResponse. You can do it without any training, coding, or design skills. Everything is available for you to get started. You just have to do necessary customization, and you’ll be all set to connect with your list.

2. Landing Pages

This is an amazing feature by GetResponse. You can create professional landing pages in no time with its drag-and-drop page builder. This helps you generate leads, build your email list, and take your business to the next level without having to hire a designer ever.

It has several landing page templates to choose from that you can modify, customize, and personalize with its landing page builder tool:

All the elements on the landing page template are editable:

The landing pages come with thank you pages and are mobile-friendly. You can preview your page for both desktop and mobile device from the builder:

You can create multiple variations of a single landing page for A/B testing. This is a very useful feature as it helps you improve the conversion rate by testing different variations:

You can add your custom domain to the host landing page on your website or you can host it on GetResponse. You can link your analytics tool and add Google Ads conversion tracking code to see how your ad campaign worked:

Additional features you can use for landing page optimization include:

  • Pop Ups
  • Countdown timer
  • Integration with Facebook and Instagram ads

The ability to create, optimize, and manage landing pages is a helpful feature for businesses of all sizes.

3. Funnels

I personally love this feature as it is always an issue to map, create, and manage sales funnels. GetResponse has a powerful conversion funnel feature that lets you create funnels in minutes by answering a few questions.

There are over 30 optimized funnels that are ready-to-use. You can tweak them as per need. You can create sales funnels, conversion funnels, lead magnet funnels, or any type of funnels you want for your business. You can also integrate your payment processor (e.g. PayPal) and sell directly to your customers at the bottom of the funnel.

There are three funnel types that you can choose from:

  1. Funnels for list building (lead magnet funnel and opt-in funnel)
  2. Sales funnels (full sales funnel and quick sales funnel)
  3. Webinar funnels (free webinar and paid webinar funnels)
A screenshot of a cell phone Description automatically generated
Source: GetResponse

Full sales funnel is the most comprehensive and detailed sales funnel that you can create. It lets you generate leads and nurture them:

A screenshot of a cell phone Description automatically generated
Source: GetResponse

Sales funnel is a feature for ecommerce stores or online sellers. You’ll have to have an online store in GetResponse to create a sales funnel as it involves selling products to your list. You can create a store, connect an existing store, or import products from an existing store:

You can create a lead magnet funnel by selecting an existing lead magnet. There are a lot of high-converting lead magnets available to choose from:

A screenshot of a cell phone Description automatically generated
Source: GetResponse

This is how a conversion funnel looks like in GetResponse:

Source: GetResponse

It is a 3-step process:

  1. Create a sign-up page (This will take you to the landing page builder where you’ll select a template and personalize it)
  2. Create a download page (This is the thank you page that you can fully personalize)
  3. Create an email (This is where you’ll create an autoresponder with email design)

So a funnel is a combination of landing page and email marketing combined together. You don’t have to use another builder or tool to create a funnel.

You can drive traffic to your funnel landing page by creating a Facebook ad. This is also integrated within the funnel (optional though).

Funnel creation and management is a handy feature that helps you set up funnels automatically and warm your leads. Things get interesting if you are an online seller because that’s where you can sell your products towards the end of the funnel.

4. Marketing Automation

Marketing automation is an intuitive yet easy-to-use feature that helps you create automated workflows. You can create a workflow with its simple drag-and-drop interface. It uses if-then logic with conditions, filters, and actions.

You can use automation to send emails based on several conditions such as cart abandonment emails with discount coupons with follow-ups. Here is a video that explains how to do it:

GetResponse has numerous ready-to-use automation templates that you can start using right away. The templates are available in several categories such as lead qualifying, abandoned cart, sales promotion, online courses, and others:

This is what an automation template looks like:

It has everything set up for you. You can tweak it by adding/removing conditions, actions, and filters.

Marketing automation puts your email marketing, lead generation, funnels, and follow ups on complete autopilot. There are potentially unlimited ways to use workflows. You can create any workflow to automate your business.

5. Facebook Ads

It is a newly added feature that is still in beta. It lets you create and manage Facebook ads from GetResponse. There are four major benefits of using this feature:

  1. You can create professional ads easily with GetResponse
  2. You can target your email list on Facebook and Instagram with ads
  3. Retargeting gets a whole lot easier
  4. You can easily manage ads, funnels, email lists, and traffic from a single dashboard.

The idea is to use Facebook ads with GetResponse funnels. GetResponse doesn’t charge any additional fees for running ads from its dashboard.

This feature is helpful for people who aren’t used to using Facebook ads manager and want an easy-to-use and simple way to run and manage ads. Additionally, GetResponse will make retargeting easier as all the traffic will go through its tracking code, so you’ll be able to create retargeting ads easily.

6. Integrations

GetResponse integrates seamlessly with more than 150 apps and tools including CMS, payment processors, CRM, ecommerce, sales, advertising, and more.

You can also register a custom app and integrate it easily. Additionally, you can connect several other apps via Zapier. All you have to do is connect your GetResponse account with Zapier and you’ll be all set to create zaps you need.

Third-party integrations are extremely useful as they help you connect apps and tools. It automates tasks that you might have to do manually, otherwise.

For instance, if you want to accept payments from your landing page, you can do so by integrating PayPal and your ecommerce store with GetResponse. Your customers don’t have to go to your store to add a product to the cart rather they can do it right from the landing page.

GetResponse Pros

Here are the best things about GetResponse that make it an ideal email marketing and automation tool:

  • It is an all-in-one email marketing and automation platform that is suitable for businesses of all sizes including small businesses, bloggers, agencies, ecommerce, online sellers, service providers, and more. It offers a wide range of features that every business needs at some point in time.
  • You can create funnels and workflows even with the Basic plan. This makes it a great choice for small to mid-sized businesses that want to manage everything from a single dashboard.
  • It is very competitively priced as compared to other marketing tools in the market. The starting price of $15 per month for a list size of 1000 is quite affordable. Additionally, a 30-days free trial is a cherry on the top.

GetResponse Cons

Here are the downsides of GetResponse that might bother you:

  • The analytics and reporting dashboard is too basic. This is one area where GetResponse needs improvement. If you are more interested in reporting, data analysis, and insights for decision-making, you might not like GetResponse a lot.
  • Phone support is only available with Max plan. If you are any of the three plans, you’ll have email and live chat as support options. If you need help on an urgent basis, you’ll struggle and have to wait in the queue to talk to a live chat agent.
